EQUIPMENT & ACCESSORIES:

Although the various pieces of equipment and accessories necessary in the development and management of Small Private Caravan Site are not technically challenging, their 'specialist' deployment may well carry an element of premium pricing prevalent in the small volume procurement/ manufacture of a limited sector market.

Historically, Small Private Caravan Site developers have reported difficulty in locating any supplies of specific equipment or accessories, let alone competitive supply. In addressing this situation, www.perfect.pitching4caravansites.org have sought to locate alternative sources and make some of the items not only available but competitively priced at a one-stop-shop.

Block Plans are prepared from a desktop survey and not an on-site survey

Block Plans will not meet the criteria required in support of a Planning Application and may not be suitable for Construction purposes

The Block Plans will be indicative of the proposed scheme reflecting many of the issues covered in the 'Design Consideration Topic Sheets' although, in many instances, there m\ay be no single definite requirement/ solution to any given situation

All requests will
be issued electronically in pdf format

OPERATIONAL DOCUMENT  REQUEST

The following suite of Guides/Aids can be ordered individually or as a set and customised to meet specific requirements with varying levels of detail and information. For this reason, there is no set fee scale but will will be agreed once the precise scope of works has been determined and prior to any instruction to proceed accepted.

The provision of a serviceable Chemical Toilet Emptying Point (CTEP) remains one of the most basic requirements for a Small Private Caravan  Site developer but possibly the item that receives the least consideration in design terms.

The CTEP must be both safe and practical, ideally easy to use, unobtrusive and of no detrimental impact on the environment or wildlife. We at www.perfect-pitching4caravansites.org can offer an acceptable blend of functionality, durability, aesthetics and value for money that would be hard to match in the open market.

Although most caravans and motorhomes are fully equipped, often to the point of obsession, there is always the potential of a visitor arriving at a Small Private Caravan Site without some item which, in its absence, may well assume that status and deemed 'essential' for the enjoyment of the stay.

Added to this, there may have been 'words' between the party during the journey and the distinct possibility of the blame game played out with responsibility apportioned on the basis of 'inside' equipment and 'outside' equipment.

Few items better illustrate this potential than that of the ELECTRICAL EXTENSION LEAD essential for powering the caravan or motorhome such that the onboard equipment can be used to it's full potential. The likelihood that this will no longer be possible can assume importance above the potential inconvenience and set an agenda for the duration of the stay that as a Small Private Caravan Site Owner will no doubt have to deal with. It may, even unwittingly, influence the visitors overall satisfaction levels and impact negatively on their feedback review.

Given the above scenario, if the Small Private Caravan Site Owner can miraculously produce an ELECTRICAL EXTENSION LRAD that the visitor can borrow then the 'disaster' will have not only been adverted but the Owner win brownie points for their foresight and customer service.

That said. the recommendation would be to take a refundable deposit for the equipment loaned on the basis that, having omitted to pack the item when preparing for the trip, does not mean that the visitor will not switch to default mode at the end of their stay and automatically stow your equipment on board at departure!!!!

It is also recommended that any leads be periodically tested by a suitably qualified electrician.

As noted elsewhere on this website, the grey water waste (sink, shower and wash hand basin) accounts for approximately 66% of the total liquid waste with the chemical toilet accounting for the remaining third.

Many Small Private Caravan Site operators 'invite' their visitors to dispose grey waste water in hedgerows and around trees especially during periods of prolonged dry weather on the grounds of environmental responsibility.

There could, however, be a secondary consideration if the site is not connect to a main sewer and is reliant upon holding tanks with periodic emptying by an approved contractor. In such circumstances, any reduction on the bulking of toilet effluent could have significant cost savings over a season effectively improving the bottom line.

It is not uncommon for the grey waste outset to be diverted to the nearest hedge, tree or ditch by a length of flexible household corrugated waste pipe with the added advantage of the visitor nor having to periodically empty the waste container. If the required hose is available on site so much the better as it will facilitate the unprepared participating in this environmental practice and, at the same time, help improve the overall viability of the project.
